Position Overview

This role involves working in a fast-paced, 65-bed Emergency Department that includes a designated pediatric pod and an acute mental health area. The Emergency Department has a patient census of approximately 230 visits per day, providing a broad scope of clinical scenarios and patient care experiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Administer IVs and perform phlebotomy and EKGs as needed.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and conduct point-of-care testing.
• Provide patient education and implement critical thinking in patient care.
• Participate in the splinting of injuries as per protocol.
• Assist with various patient populations, including those in acute mental health crises.
• Float to ED Observation, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and ED Psych as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing.
• Proficiency in general Emergency Department nursing skills.
• Current certifications: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, with a focus on night shifts.
