Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, particularly focusing on admitted patients. This role requires significant experience in Level 1 trauma care and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications, including IV medications, while adhering to the seven medication rights.
• Document and communicate clinical findings clearly and effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient flow management, understanding approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department patients are admitted.
• Assist with patient transitions in the ED holding and trauma areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state, with the option for a pending license at the time of submission.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; Level 1 trauma experience is strongly preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with at least 2 years of Level 1 experience may be considered.
• Must possess current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC certification is required before submission).
• Willingness to work weekends based on department needs.
• Floating to Pediatric Emergency Department is optional; floating to Adult PCUs is an expectation based on staffing needs.

Work Schedule

Shifts are typically 4x12-hour nights, with exact hours and scheduling details to be confirmed upon hiring. Travelers will be expected to work during designated holiday bundles.

Additional Information

• No local candidates within 100 miles will be accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccination is optional, though reporting of vaccination status is required.
• Guaranteed hours based on contracted schedule, with potential call-offs permitted within specified limits.
• New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks in duration.
• Travelers who have reached the one-year mark or have completed four consecutive assignments will require a 6-month break before accepting new contracts.
