Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a Level I Trauma center and be adept at managing a high volume of admitted patients. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a commitment to patient care and quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Administer medications, including IV medications, following the seven medication rights.
  • Document clinical findings and communicate effectively with the medical team.
  • Assist with the management of admitted patients and monitor their progress.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to enhance patient outcomes and efficiency.

Shifts

This position requires working night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week. Flexibility for weekend rotations is necessary, as staffing may require weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required, with the ability for NM license to pend at the time of submission.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; Level I Trauma experience is preferred.
  • Mandatory certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be completed before submission).
  • Travel experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with 2+ years of Level I experience may be considered.
  • Capability to float within the scope of practice based on staffing requirements.

Work Environment

The Emergency Department operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, providing a supportive and fast-paced environment. Precautions will be taken to ensure a safe working environment, with options for pandemic-related protocols.

Additional Information

  • All travelers must expect their assignments to include primarily admitted patients.
  • Local applicants residing within 100 miles of the facility will not be considered.
  • No block schedules are available, and guaranteed hours will comply with contracted expectations but may involve facility-calling off due to staffing needs.
  • Travelers are encouraged to maintain compliance with required certifications and licensure statuses throughout their assignment.
