Emergency Room Nurse

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join a fast-paced emergency center. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment with diverse medical needs including trauma and neurological cases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in the Emergency Room, accommodating approximately 180-200 visits per day.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including medical providers, nurse aides, paramedics, and security personnel.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as required.
• Manage respiratory therapies in collaboration with a dedicated respiratory therapy team available 24/7.
• Utilize Meditech 6.15 for electronic medical records, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Participate in regular team meetings and case reviews to enhance patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including completing required orientation within the first week of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Room or related nursing experience, including at least one travel assignment.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ASLS or NIHSS, CPI.
• Experience working with Meditech is mandatory.
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be expected to perform their duties effectively within the emergency center, which includes management of various incident types, from pediatric to geriatric populations. The team values responsiveness and expertise, emphasizing comprehensive care in a secure environment, including a dedicated six-bed behavioral lock-down area.

Please note that adherence to the auto lunch deduction policy is required, and Caribbean blue scrubs must be worn.
