Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Facility: Claremore Indian Hospital
Department: Emergency Room (ER)
Assignment: Travel/Contract
Contract Dates: October 26, 2026 – January 30, 2027
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts/week
Shift: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM or 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Focus: ER – Nights
Experience: Minimum 3 years; 5 years preferred

Position Overview:

Claremore Indian Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages. The RN will care for patients presenting with minor medical conditions, injuries, accidents, trauma, and other acute or emergent illnesses.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department, prioritize multiple patients, respond quickly to changes in patient condition, and provide safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' clinical conditions and recognize signs of serious or life-threatening conditions.
  • Prioritize patients based on acuity and respond promptly to emergent situations.
  • Initiate appropriate emergency interventions when a physician is not immediately available.
  • Monitor patients using cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, infusion pumps, ventilators, and other emergency equipment.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, respiratory treatments, and other prescribed therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support and mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor hemodynamic and respiratory status and promptly report changes.
  • Accurately document assessments, nursing interventions, treatments, patient responses, and coordinated care.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assign and coordinate nursing activities based on staff competency and patient care needs.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and equipment within the department.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized emergency care environment.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and families during emergency situations.
  • Effectively prioritize and multitask in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience.
  • 5 years of ER/ED experience preferred.
  • Strong emergency/trauma nursing experience.
  • Experience caring for patients across the lifespan.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department.
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Required License:

  • Active Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC

Schedule:

  • 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
  • Day: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Night: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
  • ER Nights preferred

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Candidate must successfully complete all required credentialing and facility clearances, including:

  • Background check
  • Drug screening
  • License verification
  • Required certifications and other facility credentialing requirements
