Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Setting: Acute care, Level I trauma emergency department
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required; 2 years of emergency room, emergency department, or acute care experience preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, from newborns to older adults
• Strong rhythm recognition, triage, and emergency response skills
• Experience with vasoactive, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with urgent, emergent, and critical conditions
• Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients presenting with trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and other emergency diagnoses
• Manage and titrate critical drips based on patient needs and provider orders
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms and changing patient conditions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and other members of the clinical team
• Support trauma care workflows and assist with stabilization efforts as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and uphold patient safety standards throughout every shift
• Deliver calm, compassionate care in a dynamic emergency department setting
