• Setting: Acute care, Level I Trauma Emergency Department

• Duration: 26 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift Pattern: Every other weekend rotation; block scheduling may be available
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Charting System: EPIC
• Care Team: 2 charge nurses, 24/7 house supervisor coverage, ED tech support, and respiratory therapy support

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of emergency room nursing or acute care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS
• Ability to care for a broad range of emergency department patients, including critically ill and trauma patients
• Comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding quickly to life-threatening changes
• Experience with IV drips, including vasopressors and cardiac medications
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients with a wide variety of conditions and acuity levels
• Assess, monitor, and stabilize patients presenting with cardiac, neurological, medical, and traumatic emergencies
• Administer and titrate critical drips as ordered, following established clinical protocols
• Recognize and respond quickly to changing patient conditions, including life-threatening rhythms and emergent situations
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, ED techs, and respiratory therapy to support patient care
• Assist with trauma care as needed once patients have been stabilized and transferred from the trauma bay
• Draw labs, support patient flow, and help maintain safe and efficient ED operations
• Follow scheduling expectations, including every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
