Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role offers a chance to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population in our 65-bed Emergency Department.

Unit Description

• Pod-based Emergency Department with separate pediatric and Acute Mental Health areas.
• Average census of 230 visits per day, ensuring an engaging work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medication and intravenous therapy, including phlebotomy and point of care testing.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and perform EKG as required.
• Provide patient education and support critical thinking in a fast-paced setting.
• Engage in splinting and other emergency care as necessary.
• Float to ED Observation, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Emergency Department Psych as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are mandatory.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.

Work Schedule

• Options for 36 or 48 hours per week, with night shifts and weekend shifts required.
• Rotating shifts may be requested, but rotation frequency is low.
