Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, providing essential care to a diverse patient population.

Unit Description

The Emergency Department features a 65-bed, pod-based design that includes a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings appropriately.
• Administer intravenous (IV) therapy and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Monitor cardiac activity, conduct EKGs, and utilize point-of-care testing.
• Provide critical thinking skills to address urgent health situations.
• Deliver patient education and support throughout their treatment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing.
• General ED nursing skills, including critical thinking and clinical assessment.
• Floating to ED Observation, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Behavioral Health areas may be required.

Patient Care

The RN will work with a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a high-census environment, averaging 230 patient visits per day.

Shift Requirements

• Rotating shifts may be required upon request, including day (7a-7p, 11a-11p) and night (7p-7a) shifts.
• Night positions do not rotate.

Certifications

Candidates must hold the following certifications:

• AHA Certified Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Certified Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• AHA Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
