Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Overview

The Emergency Department is a 65-bed facility utilizing a pod-based design, featuring a separate pediatric pod and an area dedicated to Acute Mental Health care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and documentation of patient conditions.
• Administer IV therapies, conduct phlebotomy, and monitor EKG and cardiac activity.
• Conduct point of care testing and provide critical thinking in high-pressure situations.
• Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management.
• Deliver care in alignment with established protocols and best practices.

Patient Population

The Emergency Department caters to a diverse patient population, managing a daily census of approximately 230 visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing.
• Must possess AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
• Proficient in general Emergency Department nursing skills, including assessment and critical thinking.

Additional Requirements

Candidates should be flexible to float between the Emergency Department, Observation Unit, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and ED Psych Observation Beds as needed. Rotating shifts may be required upon request, primarily for day shifts.

Work Environment

This position includes 36 to 48 hours of work per week, with night shifts and weekend coverage required. Free on-site parking is available for staff.
