Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume, 65-bed Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population. The department operates in a pod-based model and includes a dedicated Pediatric Pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced ED nurse who is confident managing a broad range of emergency conditions and thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and ongoing reassessments.
- Initiate and maintain IV access and perform phlebotomy.
- Perform and interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms.
- Conduct point-of-care testing as required.
- Provide splinting and other emergency interventions.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Demonstrate strong critical-thinking and prioritization skills.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic ASAP.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, ancillary staff, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Float to ED Observation, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and ED Psychiatric Observation as required.

- RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Patient Population: All ages / diverse patient population
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- Strong general ED nursing experience
- Excellent assessment and critical-thinking skills
- IV insertion and phlebotomy
- EKG and cardiac monitoring
- Point-of-care testing
- Splinting
- Patient education
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume emergency setting
Required Certifications
- AHA BLS – Required
- AHA ACLS – Required
- AHA PALS – Required
- NRP – Strongly Preferred
- TNCC – Strongly Preferred
Schedule
Night Shift:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Night position does not rotate
Day Rotation (when requested):
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotation frequency is low
Floating Requirements
ED RNs may be required to float to:
- ED Observation
- Acute Medical Unit (AMU)
- ED Psychiatric Observation
