- Orientation: 1 week of onboarding, Epic training, skills check-off, and precepted shifts
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, and NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience is required for this travel RN assignment
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients across a broad range of acuity levels
- Assess, triage, and monitor patients presenting with chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke symptoms, respiratory distress, psychiatric concerns, and pediatric complaints
- Administer emergency interventions and support procedures including TNK, conscious sedation, chest tubes, and central lines as appropriate to scope and competency
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, techs, respiratory therapy, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate documentation and workflow using Epic and other clinical systems
- Deliver patient-centered care while helping maintain a positive, professional, and supportive unit culture
