Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Level III Trauma Center, General Healthcare Facility, Starting 10/05/2026. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric to geriatric patients at a busy Level III trauma center. Candidates will be responsible for managing a wide range of clinical situations in a fast-paced setting.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC), TNCC required.
• Education Requirements: Current RN license; minimum of 2 years' experience in a large-volume emergency department with high acuity patients.
• Locations: Emergency Department at a Level III trauma center.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 7 p.m. 7 a.m., 36 hours per week on a 12-hour shift schedule.
• Responsibilities: Managing medication administration via barcode scanning, blood product administration, triage (must pass hospitals triage test), setup of chest tubes, arterial lines, assistance with trauma and code cases, splinting, Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP)/ventilation support, and understanding of Emergency Severity Index (ESI).
• Clinical Experience: Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred; Point of Care Labs experience considered a plus.
• Patient Types: Neonate to geriatric, including stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, substance use disorder, and high-acuity pediatrics.
• Patient Ratios: 1:35 based on acuity; fast track zone with 13 beds.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic system experience required.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The department is the busiest emergency department in the state, with transfer-out responsibilities for neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric cases. Busiest ED in the state with 200-250 patients daily.
