Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Puyallup, WA. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds. The ER Nurse will manage a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, mental health, and geriatric cases, ensuring efficient and compassionate patient care.
Job Details
- Location: Puyallup, WA
- Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
- Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
- General ED skills including cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and basic ED knowledge of drips and medication administration
- Procedural sedation, blood administration, and TNK administration (preferred), cardiac medications
- Recent EPIC experience required
- Support on the unit includes ER tech glucose checks, iStat, assisting with splinting, and resource/float nurse support
- Support staff includes security, social work services, and pharmacy available 24/7
- Charting system: EPIC with support from Alaris and Pyxis equipment
- Telemetry monitoring available at nursing stations
- Orientation: Day 1 includes badge pickup, EPIC training, mental health, and front desk hours; Day 2 involves a 12-hour shift with a preceptor
- Telemetry competency required prior to start, graded by support provider
- Schedule: Nights or days/mids with 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with schedule provided three weeks in advance
- Flexibility to work a week at a time on specific shifts, with weekend variations based on unit needs
- No float required
- Scrubs: Any professional colors, modest piercings, and non-offensive tattoos acceptable
- Parking: Free parking available in designated areas
