  • Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4–5 on days, with flexibility based on acuity and staffing

  • Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington
  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB certifications
  • Recent Epic documentation experience
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency nursing skills
  • Experience with or demonstrated competency in procedural sedation, blood administration, cardiac medications, and high-acuity patient care
  • Ability to successfully complete the required traveler telemetry competency assessment before starting
  • Adaptability, sound clinical judgment, and effective communication in a high-volume Emergency Department

Travel Emergency Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, compassionate nursing care to pediatric through geriatric patients
  • Care for patients with trauma, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory conditions, mental health concerns, falls, and other high-acuity medical needs
  • Perform focused nursing assessments, prioritize care, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry-monitored patients
  • Administer medications, cardiac therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments safely and accurately
  • Support procedural sedation and other emergency procedures within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, security, technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered Emergency Department environment
