Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurses are sought for a facility located in Presque Isle, Maine. This role involves providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including neonates through geriatrics, with a focus on trauma, stroke, STEMI, behavioral health, and other critical conditions. The position begins on 11/09/2026 and continues through 02/06/2027, offering a nights shift schedule.
Job Details:
- Location: Presque Isle, Maine
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), NRP (preferred) certifications; minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience; strong skills in EKGs, IV starts, nebulizer treatments, vent management, suture removal, assisting with casting, and preparation for charge nurse roles.
- Experience with charge nurse responsibilities, especially in trauma or emergency settings, is highly valued.
- Patient care includes neonates to geriatrics, with a variety of cases such as trauma, stroke, behavioral health, and cardiac emergencies.
- Support staff include night and day shift emergency department technicians, mid-level providers, hospitalists, and a critical care transport team.
- Orientation: Two days of hospital and unit-specific orientation, plus one day with a preceptor.
- Staffing includes multiple nursing shifts with a stable team, and charting is performed in the FirstNet system.
- Float: None required.
