Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team during night shifts. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Variable scheduling; weekends are not guaranteed off.
• Call Requirements: None

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality nursing care in an Emergency Department setting.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Performing triage and managing patients with a variety of conditions from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Managing dysrhythmias and providing care for ventilated patients.
• Utilizing telemedicine resources for neurological emergencies.

Qualifications

• Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-trauma Emergency Department. Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC (preferred); CPI (preferred).
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Float Requirements: Travelers may be required to float to ED holding.

Unit Information

• Trauma Level: Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 Critical Care bays.
• Patient Population: Broad range of patients including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Equipment: Utilization of ultrasound, bladder scanners, neuro telecommunication devices, and EPIC EHR.
