Travel RN Job Details

• Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment

• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and one major holiday required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Recent Emergency Department nursing or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire; preferred at hire
• TNCC preferred
• CPI de-escalation training required
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Must be able to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency care setting

Emergency Room Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients of all ages, from neonates through adults
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, triage patients, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with nursing standards and policies
• Support trauma, stroke, STEMI, behavioral health, and other urgent or emergent patient needs
• Respond calmly and efficiently in fast-moving, high-stress clinical situations
• Coordinate care with physicians, techs, and other team members to promote timely patient throughput
• Advocate for patient safety, quality improvement, and positive patient outcomes
• Use emergency equipment and clinical technologies confidently and appropriately
• Maintain professionalism, compassion, and clear communication with patients and families
