Job Details

• Position: Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room RN
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Richmond, VA 23226
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Start Date: 9/14/2026
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
• Population: Patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department RN or ER nursing experience required
• Experience with conscious sedation required
• BLS and ACLS required
• CPI / de-escalation training required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and rapid prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, high-acuity acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments, triage, and reassessments in a fast-paced ED setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with nursing standards and policies
• Support stabilization, resuscitation, and crisis intervention as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and disposition
• Document care accurately and efficiently using electronic health records
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and best practices in every interaction
• Respond calmly and professionally to changing patient conditions and urgent situations
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during stressful moments
