Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. This position focuses on providing exceptional care to adult patients with a variety of emergency conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, particularly in an emergency or trauma setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage patients effectively.
• Administer IV therapy and manage conscious sedation.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and respond to critical situations with a calm demeanor.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health systems.

Patient Care Ratios

• Non-Critical Patients: 3:1 ratio
• Critical Patients: 2:1 ratio
• Medical Boarders in ED: 5:1 ratio

Shift Details

• Contract Length: 48 hours strongly preferred, with options for 13-week contracts available.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• No call requirement and no float duty required.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care, preferably in an Emergency Room setting.
• Required Skills: IV Start, Triage, Telemetry, and Conscious Sedation.
• Required Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, and BLS.
• Preferred Skills: ENPC and trauma experience.

Orientation and Training

• Orientation duration: 36 or 48 hours based on contract agreement.

Uniforms

Scrubs should be navy blue.

Candidates are encouraged to provide their interview availability within the next 72 hours upon submission to facilitate timely approval and interview scheduling.

Additional Information

All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start date for this specialty. Please note that block scheduling is not permitted.
