Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position in Madison, WI. This role involves providing critical emergency care within a Level IV Trauma Center and Acute Stroke Ready Center for a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, and adults. The position requires managing a variety of urgent and complex cases in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in emergency nursing, including adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years. Valid Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license required. Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers, telemetry competency, community hospital experience, and prior charge nurse experience are preferred.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, RN license.
  • Skills: Proficiency in managing arterial lines, intubation, trauma assessment, cardiac rhythm interpretation, emergency medication administration, and ventilator management. Ability to respond to a wide range of medical emergencies including trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and pediatric crises.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will be required to pass a telemetry interpretation exam prior to start, with up to two attempts permitted. The assignment includes a total of 20 orientation hours. Floating may be required to meet unit needs, with a local rule of 50 miles from the facility. This position begins on 10/12/2026 and ends on 01/11/2027.
