Pay & Benefits

About the Facility

Facility is a 16-bed freestanding emergency department. It has no trauma designation. It averages about 68 ED visits a day, with an admit rate of roughly 10%.

On-site services, available 24/7:

• X-ray

• CT

• Ultrasound

Limited STAT outpatient imaging is also available on weekdays, with a maximum of 6 patients per day.

The Role

You'll care for ED patients of all ages. Common presentations include general emergency diagnoses and behavioral health.

• Ratio: typically 1:4

• Night staffing: 4 RNs report at 1900

• Support: charge RN with no patient assignment, 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy, and in-house imaging. RT and imaging are cross-trained to assist with patient care.

• EMR: Epic

• Equipment: Alaris, Omnicell, Panda warmers

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact)

• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.

  • If you can't hold all of them by your start date, the facility will help you get them quickly after you start.

• Solid general ED skill set, including:

  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation

  • Critical care drips

  • PIV starts

  • TNK/tPA administration

  • Conscious sedation

• Prior travel experience preferred but not required

• Radius rule: your permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the unit

Schedule & Expectations

• Weekend rotation: every other weekend

• No on-call or call-back requirements

• Holidays: travelers work 75% of holidays

• Schedule cycle: 6 weeks

• Time off: up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holiday weeks. Missed hours must be added to the end of the contract.

• Orientation: facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation

• Scrub color: navy blue
