Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state eligibility as applicable
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department / ER nursing experience
  • At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Previous charge nurse or preceptor experience preferred
  • Experience with triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
  • Comfort working night shifts and rotating weekend/holiday coverage
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Must be comfortable caring for a wide range of ages, including pediatric and adult patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients with urgent and emergent needs
  • Perform triage, assess patient conditions, and prioritize care in a fast-moving Emergency Department
  • Start and maintain IVs, obtain labs, and support phlebotomy needs
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
  • Administer emergency medications and support critical interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
  • Support charge responsibilities when trained and assigned
  • Deliver compassionate care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit procedures and clinical standards
