- Setting: Busy emergency department with high-volume, high-acuity patient flow
- Unit Highlights: Approximately 27 beds, about 115 visits per day, and care for patients across the lifespan
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience required
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state required at time of submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Previous charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred
- Experience with triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
- Cerner experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency department with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Must be available for weekend coverage and holiday rotation as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent needs
- Perform charge nurse and triage duties as assigned
- Start and maintain IVs, assist with phlebotomy, and support emergency interventions
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Support new team members as a preceptor when needed
- Maintain accurate and timely charting in the electronic medical record
- Deliver compassionate care while prioritizing patient safety, speed, and clinical excellence
