Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position involves working with a diverse patient population ranging from infants to geriatric patients in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
  • Utilize strong assessment and triage skills to prioritize patient needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance standards in all aspects of care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department setting required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems preferred.

Work Environment

  • Night shift position: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 with an average daily census of 135 patients.
  • General ER responsibilities; must be adaptable to floating between locations as needed.
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue.

Scheduling and Compliance

  • Maximum requested time off (RTO) of 7 days allowed.
  • Every other weekend commitment required unless specified otherwise.
  • Holidays: Expectation to work one major holiday; if assigned to two major holidays, work both is required; if assigned to three, work at least two is expected.
  • Full compliance with required credentials needed to start on time.
