Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice and guiding patient and family education while coordinating the activities of other nursing personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department, adhering to professional nursing standards.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, communicating changes and diagnostic study results to the physician.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or responses to treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and appropriate reporting of child/adult abuse to designated agencies.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or other stroke certification preferred.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred.
  • Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training.
