Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level III Trauma Center with designated stroke and STEMI receiving capabilities. The ER team manages a diverse patient population, requiring rapid assessment, intervention, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

  • Position: ER Nurse
  • Schedule: Nights, 11.5-hour shifts, minimum of 34.5 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licenses and certifications in BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS; minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience handling common diagnoses such as chest pain, abdominal pain, injury, and extremity pain; familiarity with cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia drips; proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring is optional.
  • Additional Job Details:
    • The ER treats over 30 patients daily.
    • Charge nurses may take assignments.
    • RNs are expected to troubleshoot ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, high-flow devices.
    • Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed; a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule is required.
    • The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
    • Emergency Phlebotomy and lab specimen collection are performed by RNs or phlebotomists.
    • The shift may require floating within Zone 4 based on operational needs.
    • Charting is completed using the EPIC system.
    • The facility has in-house security and a dedicated triage and holding area, with trauma level III designation.
