Job Summary
The organization is seeking a CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse for night shifts in an adult ICU setting. This role involves providing specialized care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those with complex cardiovascular diagnoses. The RN must have strong experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care and be comfortable floating within the specialty and sister units as needed.

Job Details

  • Qualifications: Active RN license in Maryland or a Compact state, ACLS, and BLS certifications are required. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of CVICU or open heart experience.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week, with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed.
  • Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care to adult post-cardiac surgery patients, including management of arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, and various cardiovascular monitoring and procedures. Assist with invasive procedures, medication titration, and patient assessments within a specialized CVICU environment.
  • Additional Information: The position involves immediate post-operative care, vent management with respiratory therapy, and floating within the unit and sister units as needed. Holidays and every other weekend work are scheduled; float within the specialty is required. No pre-scheduled on-call is necessary.
