    Opportunity:

    RN - CVICU

    Job Details:

    • Work 12-hour shifts on days or nights, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Every other weekend required with some holidays
    • No on-call responsibilities
    • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in CVICU specialty required within the last 3 years
    • Travel experience required
    • CVICU experience required
    • Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
    • Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, and ECMO required
    • Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
    • Charting experience in Epic required
    • Trauma Level I experience required
    • Patient ratio of 1-2 patients per assignment, up to 3 general care patients when acuity is low
    • Float to other areas as needed
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility - locals not accepted
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license
    • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting - passing score of 80% or higher required with a maximum of three attempts
    • Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole
    • Key skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, epicardial pacing wire care, CVVHD/CRRT, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
    • Care provided for adults and geriatric patient populations
    • Unit operates with 27 private rooms, each capable of ICU-level care

The CVICU is a dynamic unit specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients, including CABG, valve repair and replacement, aneurysm repair, LVAD, heart transplant, lung transplant, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and arrhythmia management. The unit is well supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more.
