    Opportunity:

    RN - CVICU

    Job Details:

    • Evening/Night 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Every other weekend rotation required with some holiday coverage
    • No on-call responsibilities
    • Patient ratio of 1-2 patients per assignment, with possibility of up to 3 general care patients when acuity is low
    • Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
    • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in CVICU specialty within the last 3 years required
    • Travel experience required
    • CVICU experience required
    • Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
    • Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
    • Travelers are required to float as needed
    • Must pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (two attempts allowed)
    • Epic charting system experience required
    • Trauma Level I experience required
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license

    • Special equipment experience required: CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard

    This is a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and considered one of the nation's leading hospitals, teaching institutions, and referral centers. The CVICU is a dynamic 27-bed unit with private rooms, each capable of ICU-level care, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, and cardiac medical patients. The unit is well-supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more. The nursing team is comprised of Care Team Leaders, a Rapid Response Nurse, and direct care RNs, ensuring comprehensive support throughout every shift.
