Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Operating Room RN (CVOR) – Western North Carolina

Start Date: September 3, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Full-time; on-call shifts assigned and rotated among staff; may float if needed (infrequent)

Highlights:
  • 6-operating-room cardiovascular surgical unit at a flagship hospital with 815 licensed beds
  • Procedures include CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, TAVR, VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD insertions, septal myectomy, Ross procedure, and circulatory arrest cases
  • All cases require 1 scrub and 1 circulator; pump cases also require a first assist/heart holder (RN or CST)
  • Documentation system: Cerner; Equipment: Stryker
  • Facility recognized with three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for patient care and outcomes, Magnet Designation, and Healthgrades 50 Best Hospitals recognition
  • Hospital-provided scrubs and support staff including unit secretary, charge nurse, PCA, and core tech
Requirements:
  • Active RN License
  • Current BLS certification
  • Extensive expertise and experience as an RN Circulator in cardiovascular operating room procedures
  • Proficiency in CVOR procedures listed above
  • Previous travel or assignment experience required (not suitable for first-time travelers)
  • Scrub/first assist experience and proficiency preferred but not required
