Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care within a cardiovascular operating room environment handling an average of 30 cases per day, including 1–2 open heart cases daily
- Assist with common procedures including open heart surgery, TAVR, open and endovascular procedures, and thoracic cases
- Scrub in as needed to hold the heart and assist with chest closure
- Participate in weekday call coverage (one weekday per week) and weekend call rotation (one weekend per month — Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Float to General OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled, and occasionally within a broader facility zone as operationally needed
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
- BLS certification required
- Open heart and/or endovascular experience required
- Must be available and present in state for the full one-week unit orientation
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
- 30-minute call response time required; on-site call room available for use
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience working in a high-volume cardiovascular OR setting
- Familiarity with TAVR and thoracic surgical procedures
- Availability for holiday call coverage (preferred but not required)
