Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a cardiovascular operating room environment handling an average of 30 cases per day, including 1–2 open heart cases daily
- Support common procedures including open heart surgery, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic cases across 3 dedicated CVOR suites
- Perform limited scrub duties as needed, including holding the heart and assisting with chest closure
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Participate in weekday call rotation (one weekday per week) and weekend call rotation (one weekend per month — Friday, Saturday, Sunday — in rotation with staff)
- Float to General OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled; occasional float within the broader hospital zone may be required in cases of extreme need
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
- BLS certification required
- Open heart and/or endovascular experience is required
- Must be available and present in state for the full one-week onsite orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
- 30-minute call response time required; on-site call room available for use
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with TAVR and thoracic surgical cases
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
- Availability for holiday call (not required but preferred)
