    Travel RN – CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

    Location

    Asheville, NC

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM with on-call stay late 1–2 times per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide pre-operative nursing care in a cardiovascular pre-op unit with a 1:1 patient ratio in a 4-bed unit
    • Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessment
    • Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
    • Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
    • Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic health record system
    • Float within scope of practice and experience as unit needs require
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular surgery or critical care experience
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Proficiency with BCMA (Barcode Medication Administration)
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
    • Excellent documentation skills and experience with Cerner or comparable EHR
    • Strong interdepartmental communication and collaboration skills
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior pre-operative nursing experience, particularly in a cardiovascular setting
    • Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
    • Experience supporting high-acuity cardiac surgical patients in a Level II trauma or referral center environment
