Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a CV PreOp setting with a 1:1 patient ratio in a 4-bed unit
- Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessment
- Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation utilizing Cerner
- Participate in on-call requirements, including staying late 1–2 times per week as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiovascular Surgery or related specialty
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Critical care experience is required
- Proficiency with BCMA and electronic documentation systems
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Must be an experienced traveler — first-time travelers will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior PreOp experience is a plus
- Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
- Excellent interdepartmental communication and collaboration skills
