Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Day or Night rotation (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), every other weekend, some holidays, no call required
Highlights:
- 27-bed Cardiothoracic ICU in a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked academic medical center specializing in cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant, and complex cardiac medical patients
- Patient assignments typically 1-2 patients with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries
- Dynamic unit with advanced technology including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard systems
- Strong team structure with 2 charge nurses and a dedicated resource nurse available each shift to support direct care staff
- Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
- Trauma Level I experience environment with exposure to CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, thoracic surgery, and advanced cardiac interventions
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience required within the last 3 years
- Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH/CRRT machine required
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area strongly preferred
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency examination prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall score; two attempts provided)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Willingness to float as needed within clinical competency
