Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,651 per week in Madison, WI

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating day (0700-1930) and night (1900-0730) schedules. Every other weekend required. Some holiday coverage. No call.

Highlights:

• Work in a 27-bed dynamic Cardiothoracic ICU within a Magnet-designated, Trauma Level I facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Specialized patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, ECMO, and complex cardiac surgical cases
• Patient ratios of 1-2 patients (occasionally 3 for lower acuity general care patients)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Advanced equipment experience including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in CVICU specialty
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• CVICU experience required with demonstrated competency in advanced cardiovascular critical care
• Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall score)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
