Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of two years of CVICU experience required License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required Telemetry test must be passed prior to starting Description: The position involves working night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. You will work every other weekend and some holidays. No call is required for this position. Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area is preferred. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting. In this role, you will deliver specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries. You will be responsible for caring for patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including CABG, heart and lung transplants, and other cardiac medical conditions. The nursing team includes Care Team Leaders (charge RNs) and Rapid Response Nurses. Patient assignments typically range from 1-2 patients, with possible assignments of up to 3 general care patients if acuity is low. The unit dynamically adapts to changing patient needs with ongoing admissions and discharges. Special procedures frequently occur on the unit, requiring strong teamwork and coordination. You will utilize advanced medical equipment and technology in your daily duties. It is essential to demonstrate a commitment to meeting patient and family needs effectively. Support is provided from interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Overall, this role requires a high level of competency in critical care nursing.
