Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night or Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: CVICU experience required Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required Telemetry test required prior to starting Previous charge experience preferred Travel experience required Description: Day and night shifts are available. Shifts are 12 hours long, running from 07:00 to 19:30 or 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and some holiday work is required. No call duty is included in this position. The role requires delivery of specialized care to patients with cardiothoracic conditions. Candidates should have experience working in acute care settings within the last three years. The nursing team consists of various roles, including charge nurses and RNs. Staff assignments can vary based on patient acuity levels. Nurses typically care for 1-2 patients, with possible assignments for 3 patients under certain conditions. Involvement in planned and emergent procedures is common. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of technological expertise in patient care. Skills in caring for ventilated patients, central line management, and various acute care procedures are essential. Communication and team collaboration are vital for effective patient care delivery. Experience with devices like CRRT, IABP, and Impella is preferred. The candidate will handle complex patient needs requiring thorough monitoring and intervention. Successful completion of a telemetry exam is required before starting the assignment.
