The Critical Care Unit cares for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Common diagnoses include immediate post-operative care for various cardiac surgeries. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for intensive cases, 1:2 for regular ICU status, and 1:3 for mixed status. Following NEO, nurses will be placed on the unit with a preceptor for further orientation. Schedule includes every other weekend rotation and 1-2 holiday shifts per contract. The facility adheres to a fatigue policy, limiting staff to a maximum of 60 hours per week. A supportive environment is provided, with a dedicated charge nurse and intensivist available around the clock. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including electronic medical records, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring. Scrubs should be of solid color without graphics or logos.
