EPIC experience preferred. Description: The manager is open to 36 or 48-hour contracts. This is a Level II Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke center and a Magnet designation. The ICU unit has 30 beds. Patient types include immediate post-op cardiac surgeries, thoracic surgeries, and vascular surgeries. Patient ratios are typically RN: 1:1 or 1:2 if regular ICU status, and 1:3 for mixed status. Techs manage a ratio of 1:8-10. Additional support includes a charge nurse, dedicated intensivists for CVICU, hospitalists, and general intensivists onsite 24/7. There is also 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapy on site. The unit has bedside telemetry monitoring, and phlebotomy assistance is available for peripheral blood draws. The EMR used is EPIC, and the unit also employs specific IV pumps and medication dispensing systems. Floating may occur to other ICU units as needed. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation every other weekend. Holiday expectations are 1-2 per contract. Approval for time-off requests is permitted for up to 7 days. Staff adhere to a fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. Scrub colors are any solid, professional colors without graphics or designs.
