Key Responsibilities of the RN - CVICU

• Provide direct care to patients immediately post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacement, and other complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Monitor patients using invasive line equipment (Swan Ganz, a-lines) and manage pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous).
• Administer cardiac medications and manage ventilators/tracheostomies.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and perform RN draws from invasive lines.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements of the RN - CVICU

• BLS, ACLS certification
• Minimum of 3 years ICU experience with at least 1 year in CVICU
• EPIC EMR experience
• Skills in managing ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD preferred
• CCRN certification preferred
