Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- EPIC experience required
- Ability to care for both med-surg and stepdown patients in an acute care setting
- Comfort working with a 6:1 med-surg patient ratio and 3:1 stepdown ratio
- Experience titrating drips such as heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, and PCA medications
- At least 1 year of relevant acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work weekend nights and adjust to a flexible patient care assignment model
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor patients on telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Titrate ordered drips and manage therapies according to unit protocols and provider orders
- Care for patients requiring support such as CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator monitoring in stepdown
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, clinical associates, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
- Support safe, efficient patient flow while maintaining excellent clinical standards
- Adapt to changing unit needs and assist where needed across floor and stepdown assignments
