Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Type: Travel RN, Acute Care
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac stepdown / med-surg flex unit
• Charting System: EPIC
• Call/Standby: No call or standby requirement

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required; cardiac stepdown or med-surg experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• BLS (AHA) required
• Comfort caring for both stepdown and lower-acuity med-surg patients
• Ability to manage telemetry and titratable drips
• Willingness to float to similar floor or stepdown units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality patient care to a diverse adult patient population
• Care for patients with cardiac and medical/surgical needs in a flexible acuity setting
• Monitor telemetry and collaborate with the healthcare team on changes in patient condition
• Titrate drips per provider orders, including anticoagulants, insulin, antihypertensives, and pain management therapies
• Support patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, or ventilator monitoring on the stepdown side
• Work closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and clinical associates to maintain smooth unit flow
• Float as needed to comparable floor or stepdown units
