Travel Nursing Job Details

- Assignment Length: Approximately 20 weeks, ending March 6, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts; 36 hours per week
- Holiday Requirement: Work at least one major holiday—Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day
- Weekend Expectations: Typically two to three weekends per month based on unit needs; weekend-only requests may be considered
- Orientation: Begins on an available Monday orientation date, generally every other week
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a valid compact-state license at the time of start
- At least 2 years of recent registered nursing experience in an intermediate care, cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or comparable acute-care setting
- Prior travel nursing experience is required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Charge nurse experience is required; charge training will be provided as appropriate
- Ability to care for patients with cardiac, medical-surgical, telemetry, neurological, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) diagnoses
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to support students and newly hired team members in a teaching-hospital environment
- Complete work history, explanation of employment gaps longer than 90 days, skills checklist, license verification, and requested time-off details required during submission
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate-care patients
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac, neurological, and overall patient status
- Care for patients with mixed medical-surgical, cardiac, neurological, and cerebrovascular diagnoses
- Administer medications and treatments while following established safety and clinical protocols
- Perform focused and comprehensive assessments, care planning, documentation, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, support staff, students, and new team members
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned and help coordinate safe, efficient unit operations
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Adapt to unit needs while maintaining a supportive, professional, and patient-centered care environment
