Travel Registered Nurse needed for a Cardiac Stepdown unit in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This 13-week Arizona nursing contract offers a supportive acute care environment, strong patient variety, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with adult and geriatric cardiac patients.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• On-Call Requirement: Yes; must be able to report within 30 minutes when called
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 to 1:4
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403 - a scenic desert-lake community with year-round outdoor recreation and easy access to travel destinations

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac nursing and medical-surgical patients preferred
• Ability to float to Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, with ED holds as needed for admissions
• Strong clinical judgment when caring for complex adult and geriatric patients
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital and collaborative care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside care in a cardiac stepdown and acute care environment
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from STEMI, NSTEMI, CABG, and other cardiac conditions
• Care for patients with CHF, COPD, sepsis, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and acute respiratory failure
• Support patients with additional post-operative and medical needs, including ALIF and EXLIF cases
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support safe patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in the Medhost EHR system
• Respond appropriately to on-call assignments and changing patient priorities
• Maintain a professional, patient-focused approach while delivering compassionate care
