Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license; Virginia or compact license required by start date
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience in stepdown, intermediate care, telemetry, cardiac, or neuro patient populations preferred
• Cerner experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and support weekend/holiday coverage
• Must provide a complete work history, skills checklist, Nursys/license copy, and requested time off at submission

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to a mixed population of med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
• Perform ongoing assessments, monitor changes in condition, and respond quickly to patient needs
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective treatment plans
• Provide confident bedside care in a fast-paced intermediate care environment
• Support charge responsibilities when needed, with training and appropriate differential provided
• Contribute to a positive learning environment for students and new hires in a teaching-hospital setting
• Help maintain a culture of teamwork, flexibility, and excellent patient outcomes
