• Schedule Notes: 36- or 48-hour contracts may be available; major holiday coverage is required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Ability to provide a complete work history and explain any gaps over 90 days
• Skills checklist and license verification required for submission
• Must be available to work at least one major holiday

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Care for a diverse patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU acuity, neuro, and CVA patients
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond promptly to evolving clinical needs
• Support charge responsibilities when assigned and help maintain smooth unit operations
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical standards in a teaching-hospital environment
• Support students, new hires, and teammates with a professional, team-oriented approach
• Adapt to unit needs and provide dependable holiday coverage as required
