Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty, such as telemetry, stepdown, progressive care, or intermediate care
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• ACLS certification (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• EPIC experience highly preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care for assigned patients in a cardiac stepdown and telemetry environment
• Complete comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
• Care for patients with a variety of conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, GI, and neurological needs
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and available resources
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, delegate appropriately, and support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
