Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540
• Location: Webster, Texas, in the Clear Lake and Houston metro area
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• End Date: January 4, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Four weekend shifts during the assignment
• Unit: 10-bed IMCU, progressive care, and cardiac stepdown unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3 to 1:4
• Charting System: Expanse electronic medical record
• Floating: IMCU and stroke department, as needed
• Attire: Blue scrubs

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent progressive care, cardiac stepdown, IMCU, telemetry, or ICU-stepdown nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and progressive-level nursing care
• Experience with or willingness to manage patients receiving Amiodarone, Heparin, Cardizem, and 3% saline according to orders and facility policy
• Flexible, positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac stepdown and progressive care environment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, respiratory status, and changes in patient condition
• Care for patients requiring therapies such as BiPAP, tracheostomy ventilation, and close clinical observation
• Administer medications and continuous infusions in accordance with provider orders and established protocols
• Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patient status, escalating concerns to the appropriate care team
• Assist with or perform chest tube-related care and other unit procedures within scope of practice
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Expanse electronic medical record
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Float to the IMCU or stroke department when assigned and adapt to changing patient-care needs
